Luisa was born and raised in San Salvador El Salvador, she is fluent in Spanish, English, and French (spoken). She lived in France for a year  building cultural awareness and now lives in Tucson, AZ. Luisa completed a Bachelors of Art in psychology and the University of Arizona, a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Phoenix, Southern Campus. Luisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist by the Arizona Trauma Institute. Luisa worked in the community mental health system with SMI, Developmental Disabilities, and with LGBTQIA, particularly with members of the Trans community. Later Luisa facilitated Trauma Informed and Co-occurring disorders Intensive Out Patient groups (IOP). At this time Luisa is devoted  full time to build her private practice.

Luisa uses an integrated approach to meet you where you stand. These include a fair combination of Person Centered approach and Transactional analysis. Trauma focus and CBT are Luisa's at the fore front of her skills but she also integrates other approaches including existentialism, feminist and cultural diversity (not limited to race and ethnicity).

Building trust with professional strangers is a challenge biased by fear of stigma and the value of counseling services.
