About Chad
Chad is deeply committed to improving their clients' quality of life with remarkable empathy that resonates with everyone they meet. Chad's unique background and experience help affirm members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies—and their social justice approach allows clients to feel seen and heard in a trustworthy setting.
A licensed psychologist in Arizona, Chad focuses on supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community across a range of social and emotional concerns: navigating medical, health, and disability-related challenges; transgender care; interpersonal relationships; and the impact of cultural "isms" such as racism, ableism, and homophobia. His therapeutic approach is relational, mindfulness-based, somatic, and highly collaborative.
He earned his M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University in 2001 and completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 2006. Before private practice, Chad held leadership roles, including Department Chair and Counselor Educator at the University of Phoenix, Program Director at CODAC's LGBTQIA+ Health and Wellness Center, and Clinical Director at Palo Verde's Outpatient Services. Before counseling, Chad had a career as a professional musician and music educator, and still enjoys music, ceramics, and exploring new creative crafts.
